The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued recall notifications for over 161,000 F-150 and Maverick vehicles for parking lights that may flicker and a rearview camera malfunction.
Ford is recalling 144,516 of its 2022-2024 Ford Maverick vehicles that are equipped with a Connected Touch Radio, the NHTSA report issued on Thursday said. The motor company said the “rearview camera image may freeze when the vehicle is in reverse.” When a rearview camera does not operate properly, it can reduce the driver’s visibility and increase the risk of a crash, the report said.
To fix the issue, dealers will update the Connected Touch Radio’s software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Sept. 30. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S59.

Ford recalls F-150 for parking lights that may flicker
In addition, Ford announced that it is also recalling 16,543 of its 2022 F-150 vehicles.
The NHTSA report said that “the vehicle's parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated.” The report said that if a vehicle’s parking lights flicker, it may reduce a driver’s visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The NHTSA said that the F-150 “fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, ‘Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.’”
As a remedy, Ford dealers will replace the LED Driver module. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent on Oct. 7. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C30. These vehicles were previously recalled for this same issue under 22V-686 and will need to have the new remedy performed.
